Three Amateur Radio operators who wanted to combine their resources to benefit the citizens of Northeastern South Carolina with a reliable linked repeater system and APRS network formed the NE4SC REPEATER GROUP in October of 2006. The system is known as the Beach and Inland Group of the Emergency Amateur Repeater System or “BIG EARS”. We currently operate six VHF repeaters, three UHF repeaters, one Six Meter Repeater, and one 220 MHz Repeater. We have five APRS digipeters located along the East coast of S.C.
The NE4SC Repeater group is not a club. We do not have meetings or officers. We do encourage all amateur radio operators and those interested in amateur radio to contact us so that we can let you know when we are going to be working on our equipment, having a special events station, or just a good ole’ meet and eat session. If you would like more information about “BIG EARS” or would like information about a local club please send us an e-mail.
